Rosa Toffee, registered at Toffee-BB®, is a unique variety bred by Brown Breeding S.A. and grown predominately in South America.

There is no Rose quite like Toffee from its unique brown, earth colouring to its multiple twirling centre it has become highly sought after for weddings and events. The colour suits just about every trending colour scheme from blushes to pinks to reds it is not out of place in any design.

Our story with Toffee started many years ago through our new variety pipeline. We waited for Toffee for nearly 2 years before we received our first few bunches and now Toffee is part our South American range due to our exclusive supply agreement for the Australian market through licensed grower BellaRosa!

Toffee was well worth the wait and continues to be sought after!

Details of the Rose:

Tradename: Toffee-BB ®
Flower size: 5-5.5 cm
Vase life: 14 days
Productivity: Medium
Stem length: 60 – 90 cm
Petal count: 32

When Hannah from our Import department announced she was getting engaged in 2019 of course we were excited after discussing for some time the dream of a black wedding dress!

We work daily sourcing the best flowers in the world but at our side of things it feels like we see more paperwork than flowers and stressful nights making sure we get flowers from farms through quarantine and into the waiting arms of designers.

We see their magic from a distance and often spend Monday mornings looking up weddings and events which we know went through our hands the week before and marvel at how beautiful they are!

SO! Knowing that an October wedding means that we are already pushing, of course we decided on Toffee and Quicksand (how could it be a wedding without “Quick”?) and finishing off the amazing look (inspired by one of our Instagram idols Dr Cooper) was Explorer Roses, dramatic Preserved Hanging Amaranthus, black Hydrangea and Eucalyptus (because we are Australian after all and we just couldn’t bare not having some of our Aussie flowers in there!)

Massive thank you to our farms that perform week in week out on coming through as always with beautiful blooms. It is always extra special when it is close to our hearts!

Enjoy!

Our heartfelt thank you to the people and companies that donated to our recent bushfire fundraiser & helped raise over $15,000! Last week, Wafex’s owner Craig Musson and the team in Melbourne met with beneficiaries Kevin & Milusa Giles who are very thankful for the support!

A MASSIVE thank you to our industry friends in Australia and overseas who contributed and raised funds!

As bushfires continue to threaten many regions across Australia, we are sad to hear of the losses to those in our industry including some of the Wafex grower family and the wider flower community.  We are thankful for the work of the Fire & Emergency Services and others that have tirelessly been working in the affected areas to minimise the loss of property, life and wildlife.

Like everyone we have wondered what we can do to help and we have decided to dedicate our efforts to helping the Flower Growers directly impacted by the fires as it is close to our hearts. We are seeking cash donations and donations of flowers or plants – please contact us to arrange donations.

Wafex will also donate $1.00 for every Wildflower Bouquet sold on Australian Day week 20th – 26th January

As a flower grower and breeder, ourselves, we have also contacted plant propagators and will be offering Cash & Plant Donations to the farms which we hope in some way supports their efforts to recovery.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT – OUR FUND WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 15th FEB 2020

We proudly sourced the flowers for celebrity couple Jules and Cam’s Wedding along with our partners Harry’s Wholesale and Tesselaar Flowers. The flowers looked amazing and were created by The Fabled Florette
