July is the middle month of the Australian winter and-typified by cold frosty nights and hopefully some decent winter rains - particularly in our south east regions which are still battling a very severe drought.
Our range and variety of Australian native flowers and foliages expands greatly in July and with our key filler crops hitting full swing.
Key crops to feature in July include:
BANKSIA HOOKERIANA - Our main winter Banksia featuring a lovely cream/apricot head on 40-60cm stem lengths. This Banksia is excellent for dyeing and we can provide mixed dyed boxes in 25, 50 and 100 stem pack outs.
BANKSIA COCCINEA - Although still early in the Coccinea season, numbers on the improve in July on this sensational bright red coloured gem of the Australian flora. Available on 40-70cm stem lengths until mid October.
CHERRY BUSH - This popular foliage as at its peak whilst our weather on the west coast is cool and wet. Great supply and quality in July and available in 15, 35 and 30 bunch packs.
LEUCADENDRONS - A great selection of varieties and colours including Laureolum, Inca Gold, Discolour, Safari Sunset (tri col stage) and many others.
YELLOW BELLS - Unique bright Daffodil colour bloom on very short 2-3 week season on 40cm stem length. Very unusual and worth a look.
THRYPTOMENE CALYCINA - This is our very popular white filler flower which is grown in the south east corner of Australia. We had good rains over summer and autumn and this years quality is excellent.
PROTEA PINK ICE - Excellent supplies of mainly 40-50cm grade of the popular bloom.
WAXFLOWER - July sees our Waxflower production kick into full swing and our opening varieties include Purple Pride, CWA Pink, Jurien Brook and Mini White.
